Born in Tønsberg, Norway, Frøy Aagre began playing saxophone at the age of twelve and later moved to England to study saxophone at Birmingham Conservatoire. Her fascination of tango music, resulted in her being an exchange student at Conservatoiro Nacional in Buenos Aires for a semester. After receiving Bachelor of Music with Distinction at Birmingham Conservatoire, she moved to London to pursue a Masters degree at Middlesex University. Back in Norway, she studied Twentieth-Century Composition at Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo. In 2001, she studied with the world famous saxophonist David Liebman in New York.

- Australia tour with trio Misinterprotato: Playing at major Australian Jazz Festivals like Wangaratta-, Brisbane- and York Jazz Festival.
- Third album ”Cycle of Silence” finished. Recorded at Rainbow Studio, Oslo.
-Project with Trondheim Jazz Orchestra and Øyvind Brække, concert at Trondheim Jazzfestival June 3rd
-Concert  for Governor General of Canada and Head of State Michaëlle Jean i Rideau Hall,Ottawa.
 -Concert at Vossajazz feat. Mathias Eick
-Japan Tour sponsored by SAS Tokyo Branch, concerts in Tokyo, Kyoto, Fuji, Nagoya and Matusaka.
- Aagre was one of six jazz artists worldwide to be selected to play a showcase at the prestigious arrangement ”MIDEM Talent Jazz” at the international music fair MIDEM in Cannes January 09

2008  
- UK tour: 6 concerts around UK, including  London Jazzfestival med Kenny Wheeler as a guest
- Concerts at Earshot Jazzfestival i Seattle med Frøy Aagre US Quartet.
- opening concert at Mela festival, Oslo, played for her Majesty Queen Sonja of Norway

- Played for all the Priministers of the Nordic Countries at the Climate Conference at the Norwegian Parliament building October.
- England Tour with: Nikki Yeoh (piano), Mike Mondesir (bass), Mark Sanders (drums)                  - New York concerts with Eivind Opsvik (bass) and Kris Davis (piano).
- Festivals Frøy Aagre & Offbeat: Maijazz, Canalstreet, Oslo Jazzfestival, Sortland Jazzweekend og Dølajazz. - TV opptredener: NRK Sommeråpent, NRK Frokost-TV og TV2 God Morgen Norge.
- Release of second album, Countryside, Release tour Norway.

- Commissioned to write music for Ensemble Denada´s concert at Oslo Jazz Festival.

2007 
- Composer for the documentary ”På Fantasiens Barrikader. Broadcasted at Norwegian Television TV2 July 07.

- Composed music for the Big Band Banff   International  Workshop Big  Band in Canada.
